Let Us Do Good by Frank Siller — a memoir of family, faith, sacrifice, and service from the chairman and CEO of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, published in the 25th-anniversary year of September 11.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller had just finished his shift and was heading home when he heard the call. He turned around, drove toward lower Manhattan, and — with the roads closed — ran through the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel carrying sixty pounds of gear. He never made it home.

In the years that followed, his family turned grief into a promise. Guided by words their parents, Mae and George Siller, had lived by — “Let us do good” — they built the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Under Frank Siller’s leadership it became one of the nation’s largest organizations supporting catastrophically injured veterans and first responders, Gold Star families, and the families of fallen first responders: mortgage-free homes, smart homes for the severely wounded, and help for homeless veterans.

Let Us Do Good is the full story of the brother who was lost, the family that carried on, and the generosity of millions of Americans who made the mission possible. It is a personal memoir and a blueprint for turning loss into purpose.

Written so that Stephen’s sacrifice — and those simple words — might inspire others to do the same.
